There have always been dogs in my house... At the beginning - probably like most people of my generation - German Shepherds were in the lead. After them, it was time for the next level of initiation and a giant schnauzer female dog appeared in my house. However, as it soon turned out, this breed was not meant for me….

When I reach deep into my memory, I remember once, more than eleven years ago, when I was walking with my schnauzer, I saw two black giants that proudly kept pace with their owner. Then I thought - ah! how overgrown these schnauzers are. How wrong I was, it turned out years later ...

Time passed quickly... unfortunately, there came a moment in our lives when, after a serious illness, we said goodbye to our beloved schnauzer Affra. The house became empty... and although the heart was still gripped by the loss of Affra, I knew that neither I nor my family would be able to live without the dog...

We started the search... maybe another giant schnauzer? - This was the first thought that ran through our heads... While gathering information, I came across photos of black hairy dogs that were charming... and then I remembered that I had seen these giants somewhere before... Yes, these are the beauties I met on a walk years ago! But, as I read I couldn't believe my eyes... They're were not giant schnauzers?! Those were Black Russian Terriers!

Although the knowledge about this newly discovered breed was little, without much thought we unanimously decided that a representative of this breed would live in our house. Soon it did.

In March 2012, she crossed the threshold of our house and immediately stole our hearts a small ball, which we named Negra. This little black girl completely changed our world. She was growing, and we were discovering the advantages of this breed with each day we spent together. She was learning to live in our family and we were getting to know the breed...

It is thanks to our dog that we started attending dog shows. At first, just out of curiosity… Over time, we didn't even notice how the exhibitions drew us in and today I can say it: yes! we got the exhibition bug… It's been our family hobby for a long time… When the weekend comes, some people go fishing, others watch matches on TV, but our whole family packs bags, takes the dog and goes to the show...
Thanks to these expeditions, we met many fans of this breed, with whom conversations on one and only topic are always difficult to end... We got to know the taste of winnings, which, I must admit, bring us a lot of joy and are a source of great pride for us. As it turned out, our little, actually not so little, but certainly black girl, is not only a wonderful member of our family, but winning numerous titles and awards, she confirmed that she belongs to the strict elite of this breed.

Finally, our great passion turned into the desire to have a kennel. Our dream came true on April 24, 2014, when we welcomed the first litter of this breed into the world, which also gave rise to the "Niger Venustas" kennel.

Today, despite the countless holes still being discovered in what we thought was a manicured lawn..., despite the mysterious disappearance of all the solar lamps from the garden..., after the miraculous transformation of light carpets into black..., despite the ever-wet floor from dripping water from beards and completely not caring about the black fluff lying somewhere in the corners, we know that this is a breed that will be with us forever and we will not change it for any other.

The wisdom and love that Black Russian Terriers brought to our home is unique. They are quite demanding dogs, both in terms of care and character. Their intelligence makes it natural for them to be treated on an equal level with other family members. Representatives of this breed do not like boredom, they are devoted to the family, and at the same time firm and distrustful of strangers. Despite their size, they fit perfectly in every home - even the smallest ones - as long as the owner is close. They are not imposing, but you have to be prepared that they will perfectly pretend to be your shadow... Where you are - there is a dog.
Once someone asked me why we need this passion, what is the point of it and what do we get from it if it does not bring measurable material benefits? Well... only those who have a representative of this unique breed know the answer to this question...
